Can you believe I did it?!?!

I ATE the FROG!!!

It was BIG!

It was slimy!

It was bumpy!

It took a long time!

I got sidetracked!

It happened little by little!

I got it DOWN!

It feels good!

Like, really good!

Today, I got 95% of my tax preparation done for our unbelievably fast growing business. Praise God. We are so blessed. We actually got incorporated the beginning of this fall and we finally have an accountant. That makes the BIG FROG, well, not so hairy :) However, there is still a TON of work on owning your own business. We are learning first hand how to do it all when it comes to our business. I'm the very artsy crafty, can never think straight kind of a person so to get this done, I feel accomplished. I feel happy. I feel tired. I'm going to bed.

Reindeer Mix

This quick snack is OH SO YUMMY and perfect for this holiday season.... ok, who am I kidding? It's going to be yummy ALL YEAR LONG!

It's so simple:
4 cups of Reese's Peanut Butter Puffs cereal
2 cups of mini pretzels (the big ole bag from Costco now has a smallish dent missing out of it! That is like a year supply of mini pretzels!)
1 can of salted peanuts (cashews would be super delicious!)
1 bag of white chocolate chips melted and dumped on the dry cereal, pretzel, nut mix. (I used almond bark and that was fabulous too)

After all the goodness is covered with the chocolate/bark, lay out on the counter on top of wax paper... let it dry. Then snag a snack or two and share with friends. :)

See how I commit? I let 1 1/2 days of Blogger being down and then I almost forgot about my commitment to share what I am thankful for.

#4 - BOOKS! I love to read!!! My new favorite... well, it's not new but pretty new to my everyday life, is the BIBLE. It truly is the Manual for Life! I've been trying so hard to focus on reading it at least 20-30 minutes a day. I'm tellin' ya... there is some good stuff in there!

#5 - Our Private Quarters sheets and pillows! WHOA! I had a hard time getting out of bed before but whoa nelly, these babies are AWESOME! We got the plush sheet set and it is like heaven in bed! (in fact, this is where I am at right now!) It's so lovely that we are hosting a home party to earn more of the 7 Layers of Bliss for our bed at a discount! May 26, my house! ;)

#6 - Our growing collection of fingernail polish! We love to polish our nails! We are very much girly girls in that sense. In fact, the girls actually gave me a pedi/mani on Mother's Day! I went a whole week with one hand purple and one hand green! *how cute they picked out Scentsy colors!

#7 - MOPS! I have met the most amazing women there over the past 2 1/2 years! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!

PS. A VERY SPECIAL Wedding is going on RIGHT NOW! This sweet couple got married today! I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE ALL THE DETAILS that went into this day! It's like BLOG ROYALTY!

GOT LOTS TO BE THANKFUL FOR #3

Ok... again, in no particular order, but...I

I LOVE Missoula!

We moved here just over 3 years from our very familiar home in SD.

At first, I was sooo super nervous about being so far away from our family & close friends.

But when I finally got the nerve to leave the house, this is what I saw that surrounded me!

Isn't it GORGEOUS!?

God is MAGNIFICENT and His creation is BREATHTAKING!

Being here, we truly get to see the beauty in it all.

We are so blessed to have this be our backyard, but if you are ever looking for a place to take an amazing summer vacation... look no further! COME SEE US! We'd LOVE to have your company!

It is so relaxing, so fun (lots to do during the summer months here!) and GLACIER NATIONAL PARK is just a couple hours away! Talk about complete AWE... that will take your breath away for sure.

The sun was shining today (75+ degrees! WAHOOO!) and it made me realize how thankful I am to be here in Missoula. - for many MANY reasons which will come soon!

Arly had a softball game tonight and being able to soak up the sun while looking in the background at the snow covered mountains... like a postcard I tell ya! I pray it never gets 'normal' for me.

I will have pics of the girls to share tomorrow. All of our activities that have kept us busy this spring... stay tuned.

GOT LOTS TO BE THANKFUL FOR #2

HATS!!!

I love my hats!

Those of you who know me, know that I love to sleep in.

When you sleep in, you don't have time to fix your hair when you wait to roll out of bed until 9:42 when you have to be somewhere by 10:00! HA!

This is me this morning on my way to Bible Study...

For sure the make-up doesn't get put on and the hair doesn't get all poofy and pretty... because I only have time to brush the teeth, get dressed, throw on a little perfume (especially when smellin' good is the name of your business!), scarf down a quick bowl of AppleJacks and grab the kiddos school work and GO!

I'm trying reallllly hard (ok, I KNOW I could try a little harder!) to get up in the mornings.

That should be a NEW CHALLENGE right?!?

Ok, back to HATS! My favorite hats ever are from a local chicklet here in Missoula. Jen makes the cutest, most comfortable hats... and I have a HUGE soft spot for handmade! Check out Jen's hats at Piper and Paisley on Etsy. LOVE!

GOT LOTS TO BE THANKFUL FOR... (#1)

Today I finished a 6 session training on Finding My Vision/Purpose in Life. Find more info HERE. It's SUPER AWESOME!

It made me dig deep (like DEEP!) and through all of that I now have challenges that I've created for myself to help me grow in the areas of my life that are in fact, the reason that I was put on this earth.

Through this experience, I've realized that I GOT LOTS TO BE THANKFUL FOR! (so I'm starting my list... which I will post EVERY DAY for the next 90 days for sure! - - so keep me accountable okay?)

#1. I am THANKFUL for Love!

My whole life I have felt loved, I have shown love. But in the last almost 2 years of having a relationship with God, I know now what TRUE love is & I'm learning how to give it.

It's the most satisfying feeling ever.

It makes me feel 'real' and it makes me feel whole.

It makes me want to be a better wife.

It makes me be a better mother.

Sister.

Friend.

Daughter.

It makes me happy.

Guess Who's Back?!??!? (back, back...)

Back again... (again, 'gain...) - Oh I feel like singing!

Today has been an amazing day!

We are still trying to get into the swing of things with our homeschooling... (yes, we've been working on it since the beginning of January!) I love the fact that we are able to school from the couch to the counter, swimming pool to the park - (and yes, hotel swimming pools... it's STILL FREEZING here in MT!)

One thing I've definitely learned from this new adventure with my sweet girls is that there is really no wrong or right way to home school. Whatever way works for you is the PERFECT way for your family. We have days where we spend hours working in workbooks, spend LOTS of time reading, and even bring pen and paper to the grocery store. But, we also have days where the only schooling we get is 'playing Hotel housekeeping' in our home. Yep, we even put on our aprons, pretend knock and make sure the house is in tip-top shape! It's pretty sweet seeing the girls actually being little girls again, without a care in the world. Their giggles and free-spirit make me know we made the right decision to bring them home. I wouldn't trade it for ANYTHING (even on the days when I think "What am I doing?" or when people say "Why on earth are you doing this to your kids?")

I'm happy... and when I ask the girls, they say they are too.

So here's to a Happy Spry family... and another win for the PURPLE HIPPOS! aka Arly's softball team.

I truly believe that when you make your dreams/goals a visual in your everyday life, you are wayyyy more likely to reach them and keep pushing through the everyday walls that get put up in front of you.

Tonight, my Scentsy team came over and we made dream/vision boards... this is the start to my very first.

It was fun to pull out some scrapbooking materials and get after it! That plus a good ole glass of vino... pleasant night for sure.

I can't wait to finish it... although I do think that it will be ever-evolving.

4 Simple Goals.

I'm finally posting my 4 Simple Goals that Elsiecake started a few months ago. I have a lot of online buddies doing this little challenge too. It always helps when you have support and positive people working towards improving themselves too. so... here it goes.

1. SEW more! I want to sew sew suck your toe alll the time. But I never get my rear downstairs and get 'er done! So starting tonight, I'm vowing to sew at least something, anything, every single day (that I'm home.) By the end of the year I want to finish my Home Ec class, make pretty things for my home and be comfortable enough to sew clothes for my girlios and myself.

2. WAKE UP! I don't know why, but I've NEVER been a morning person. I just started drinking coffee about 8 months ago and that is one thing that I look forward to in the mornings. Now the house is super quiet with both girls going to public school full time, so it's almost like I'm just super lonely. This is our second week and today, after I dropped the girls off, I came home and napped for 3+ hours! That is NOT GOOD! Do you have a routine that works for you?

3. DRINK MORE H2O! Every day I need to be drinking tons of water. However, most days I don't. I really only like warm tap water... and like to drink it from a water bottle best. I know that I would feel better and eat less if I drank more water. So, someone please pass the cute water bottle and I'll drink up :)

4. BLOG more often. I have become the worlds worst blogger. We traveled to many places this summer and I have barely posted anything. So if I do #1 and #2 I will have plenty of time to blog about plenty of pretty things. Maybe I should have a blog schedule. Do you have one? Any ideas on what I could do?

After I get these 4 goals down pretty good, and on a regular basis, I have a few fun ones that I'd love to get started on by the end of the year too. That'll be another fun post.

yep... now that we have our beauty, Freddie, we need to think about decorating the inside! (i'm pretty sure that will be my absolute favorite part!)

Here's my story:

Scentsy has been a blessing for my little family. When we moved to Montana from South Dakota just over 2 years ago it was the first time out of my house with the first girl I met. I went to my friend Ariell's house to sniff all the Scentsy and left with 2 warmers and 6 bars. My house smelled soooo yummy and I didn't have to run home from the grocery store to blow out the candles! yays! They stay on 24/7 so we smell good all the time!

After my neice spilled wax (that had been going for hours and hours) from her hand to her elbow and didn't get burned (or even show a red mark!) I knew Scentsy was different than anything else out there. I was a first time ever stay at home mom and NEEDED to get out of the house to meet friends! So, I started selling (low fee of $99.... that's like one small trip to Target! ha!) and started meeting girls.... I won't go on and on about every detail but today, there are 135 girls/guys on my growing team and I'm making a full-time income! ALL THE WHILE BEING THE ONE HERE WITH MY KIDS! Praise the Lord!

(oh and did I mention our trips!?!? Joel and I went to Mexico in January and are headed on an ALL EXPENSE PAID TRIP TO HAWAII in 2 1/2 weeks!!!!)

rainy days = crafting!

Last night was our LAST night of Girl Scout Daisy meetings of the year. *sniffles* We celebrated with Big Dipper Ice Cream (huckleberry, yellow cake and white mint oreo ice cream!) at the Carousel and Dragons Hallow Park! The girls loooved it.

and of course... I needed to make them a little something special that i, of course, waited until the very last minute to do it. SUMMERTIME ADVENTURE JOURNALS!

My girls are pretty good sports, Alyn held the daisy charm while I 'friendship bracelet' knotted the yarn.

Arly is a pom pom making princess! She made 13 in less than an hour!!! (look at her sweet little tongue sticking out... now that's concentration!)

VOILA! They're finished... and the girls were ecstatic about them. That's why we craft right?!? So we can see the smiles on other people's faces when we gift them something we made from the heart right?

What are you working on? Are you ready for the longgg weekend? I am! However, we were suppose to go camping with friends for the whole weekend but Mother Nature has decided to keep us warm indoors. (forecast... rain for the next 5 days and highs in the 50s)

So I will be working on my art journal and listening to the rain come pouring down. What a perfect day!

Happy Weekend to you!!!

Ok... so, I don't know when the something just 'clicked' inside of me but I have fallen wayy more in love with my hubby.. and have an extra burst of joy for our girls. I feel like I couldn't possibly know more love than what is in my heart right now.... and it makes mae feel sooooo good! We've made it a point to reallly focus on just us for a few weeks and it seems that we all have a knew respect for each other. We are more patient, there are more giggles, and everything feels like it's just going to smooth.

I am so blessed.

Praise the Lord! You are SO GOOD!

I FINALLY got a chance to sit down and work on The Story Class!

it was so refreshing to get to work... as you can tell... i most definitely used Rachel's intro pages for inspiration - i'm getting back into the groove and her work is sooo inspiring and helps me get started and build off of. i'm very please with the process so far and it's all i can think about now!

I can't wait to do more!

What are you currently obsessed with? mine is organizing and art journaling :) and... of course, Scentsy!

our MOPS (Mothers Of PreSchoolers) craft project. I made these with the group of moms today! They loved them! they are little felt wayyy cutes toofs with a little pocket on the back to hold the treasure until the fairy arrives :) Aren't they adorables?

and me... enjoying a Starbucks Caramel Frappuccino after meeting up with the newest Troop Sniff Whiffer!

and I just went downstairs to check on the girls who are suppose to be in their beds.... but this is sooo sweet how they are cuddles up to each other in MOM & DADs bed! isn't there just something so perfect about sleeping babies... even if they are 7 & 5 years old?? oh this makes me feel so blessed.

This week has been crazy busy for me (I double booked myself 3 times!) but we're almost half way thru and tomorrow is GIRL SCOUTS! yayssss!

the girls asked me the other day if they could do something fun... so we came up with art journaling to get some of their feelings and emotions out on paper while being creative. their thoughts are so innocent and so raw. i love how simple their lives are. i want the best for my girlios... i want them to figure out who they are and what they like. this is the perfect way to let them express everything. loves.

(and of course, i am wayyy excited to get started on THIS CLASS! yays!)

my sweet bloggin' crafty momma friend had this fun little survey on her blog.... great way for us to get to know each other better. and... i loooove these things! brings me back to jr high! wahoooo!
ok... here goes...

1. When do you feel happiest?
when i'm with my little family... doing something sweet like going on a picnic, going on roadtrips, riding bikes...

2. How do you take care of yourself?
ooooo... good question! i take naps! does that count??!

3. Are you internally (by yourself) or externally (by others) motivated?
externally motivated for sure! i like to have a 'buddy' in everything i do or attempt to stick to. like exercising, crafting, building my Scentsy busines... i like to help others get motivated too!

4. What do you do for fun?
i go thrifting!!!! i looove to go thrifting (AND go to Target too!)

5. What intimidates you?
oh i think lots of things intimidate me.... first one, public speaking! ugh! and i HAVE to do it next Tuesday. A presentation in front of 60+ realtors! aaahhh

6. What is something you're proud of?
i'm proud of my husband! He is an honest, loving, caring lovebird and daddio! He is encouraging & thoughful. And I just LOVE HIM!!!!

7. Finish this sentence. I never _____________.
I never procrastinate and wait til the last minute to do anything!!! HAHA .... NOT!!! That is something I most definitely need to work on!

8. Favorite vacation spot.
I have 2 faves.... I lovelove going back to our hometowns in South Dakota... our family and some great friends are there!
Joel and I also loved loved PV, Mexico! Now, I'm not sure if it's because that was only ALONE vacation or if its because it was sooo relaxing in the dead of January... but we are going to Hawaii this June and realllly looking forward to that too!

I'm READY for SPRING! I'm ok with losing the hour of sleep... and I'm loving the SUNSHINE!

I've been warming Cherry Limeade here in my warmer & it makes me crave one... like, big time.

I'm totally going to making these cupcakes VERY soon!

OH... and here is the recipe for the cupcakes... next week i'm making these!

Cherry Limeade Cupcakes

Yield: 24 cupcakes

Ingredients:
For the cupcakes:
3 cups cake flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp. limeade concentrate
3 eggs
3/4 cup milk (I used 1%)

For the lime syrup:
3/4 cup limeade concentrate
1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar

For the frosting:
3 3/4 cups confectioners’ sugar, sifted
1/2 cup butter, softened
4 tbsp. (or more) maraschino cherry juice
red food coloring (optional)

For decorating (optional):
fresh lime slices
maraschino cherries

Directions:
To make the cupcakes, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line two muffin pans with paper liners. In a medium bowl combine the cake flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Stir together and set aside. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream the butter until smooth. Add the sugar and beat on medium-high speed until creamed. Add in the limeade concentrate and mix to incorporate. Add the eggs one at a time, scraping down the bowl between additions. Add in the flour mixture in thirds, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix ingredients just long enough to incorporate but no longer.

Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cupcake liners. Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool in the pans for 5-10 minutes, then remove to a wire rack over wax paper to cool completely.

Once the cupcakes have cooled, whisk together the limeade concentrate and confectioners’ sugar in a small bowl to make the lime syrup. Poke several holes in the top of each cupcake with a skewer and pour the syrup over the cupcakes, allowing it to soak in.

To make the frosting, combine the confectioners’ sugar, butter and maraschino cherry juice in the bowl of a stand mixer. Mix on low speed until sugar is incorporated, then increase to medium-high speed and beat until smooth. Add more maraschino cherry juice as needed to achieve desired texture. Add red food coloring if desired.

Frost cooled cupcakes. Garnish with lime slices and maraschino cherries, if desired.

We've been suuuper busy here at the Spry house... ever since we got home from Vancouver, it seems life has flown by!!! I still have some posts and pics to share for CANADA! (which we looooved!)So since then, we've had 3 birthday parties!!! Mine, Arly's and Alyn's.... we hit 100 on Troop Sniff Whiffers!!!! (now we're at 108!)... we had fairs & Scentsy parties... we've had conferences, MOPS & gymnastics.... we've had sickness.....
BUT.... We're back now! and I PROMISE you I won't be gone for 27 days again... that's ridiculous!!!! :)

Pics from Arly's 7th Birthday... bowling with friends!!!Grama and Uncle Jack surprised Arly on her birthday morning, driving 11 hours one way to stay for a too short 30 hours... next time we'll make it a few more hours longer! xoxo!

We made a cute penant garland from vintage sheets and pillow cases for Alyn's 5th Birthday... Peter Pan Style :)it was a dress up party... and Alyn was Tiger Lily Alyn got a real digital camera (well real for a 5 yr old... it's a Hello Kitty Sanrio) and she does have some mad photography skills... look!

The quality is not so good... but i love the exposure it put on these pics. and she's proud of it so that's all that matters :)

ps... i've missed you. and i'm patiently waiting for blog makeover from LA & if anyone wants to make a blog button for me that'd be fantabulous! (you might find some cherry limeade or go-go goji scents in your mailbox if you do!!! :)

these i HAD to take with me... backpack from style school... and cozy from PDR (in disguise! :)mmm and looky what we found today at SB...i love Squatchi so much!we also found some cute vintage stores... i may have gotten a few :)pretties... for realsand a BUTTON store!seriously... this city is BEAUTIFUL! LA, you're right... i almost cried!Have I told you lately how much I love him?!? I'm so happy that we are able to take fun trips together and fall in love all over again.... (oooo mushy! must be bedtime. ha!)These 2 lovies will remember this trip forever. I'm not sure I've ever seen their eyes sparkle so much...(looks like a good wayyyyyy late Christmas card?!?! maybe...)the skytrain was a HIT! that was most of our day in a nutshell... I'll be back tomorrow night. it's going to be a FUN one!!!!

oh Quiet Nights... I need you!

Yes, that's right... I need some quiet nights. So I'm already signed up for this art journal class. you can too... right here! It's very affordable, we'll make more friends, and did I mention giveaways?!?!? Vivs has been such a sweet friend since I met her in Springfield last April... and then Joel and I got to stop and see her in San Francisco a few weeks ago. Only for about 10 hours but it was so fun just to hang out, drink 'trash' and eat the yummiest pineapple, jalapeno pizza! :)
PS... please pardon the really scary Jari look.... this was after getting the most amazing beachside balcony massage from Julio (nope... not my Julio :) but he was on the table next to me. Then right after the massage we ate some sushi and had one (or two) more Miami Vice drinks (that for some reason I kept calling Magnum PI all week! ha!) and then the almost 5 hour flight to SF. I was seriously almost like Jello! :)

Did you do anything fun today? Maybe go to a Superbowl Party? Joel went to a get together at our friends' house but the girls and I stayed here and made pretty things all day long. We played with yarn, wire, fabric, button makers, felt, sewing machine... and we listed to some great music too. We also played LPS in the sweet dollhouse.... I love it when the girls play together. Melts my heart. XO.

In 7 short hours we are off to Mexico. When I say 'short", I mean SHORT! i haven't even started packing, Joel is still doing laundry, I'm still blogging... ha! I have gotten all the snuggles in with the girlios... but there will be more in the next few hours.
We're sooo looking forward to this Leadership Training... it's going to be exactly what we need for our business this year. yays!

PEACE OUT!!! We are heading up to the slopes tomorrow. Yays! It's Arly's first day of ski school... and I'm hoping to get up on the chairlift... eeeeeeeks. We're hoping that Alyn will get down the bunny hill all by herself. At temps just into the upper single digits... there will be LOTS of hot chocolate involved.

even though my kitchen doesn't look NEARLY as cutie as this.....

i still want to cook more. Joel does 95% of the cooking/cleaning in our house and this is the year that i want to step it up and help out. (sheesh... what was a realllly doing as a stay at home mom?)

and baking... oh baking... i think i might have fallen in love!

and can you imagine this pan? i'd be using it every day! i think i'm, like, in love.......

and i'm pretty sure i'm ready to start picking up and cleaning more. it really is tiring living in a cluttered home. so hard to get motivated to do anything when all you see is chaos everywhere.

since the 1st, i've organized the pantry, and my super scary craft room, and i've EVEN cleaned out the spare room :) yay me! (idk if it's because my dad is coming out this weekend to watch our girlios while we are in MX or if it's because i'm really ready for change... either way, i'll take it!) it feels sooo much better.

but shhhhhhh.... i'll still leave the toilet scrubbing to lovely hubby.

what is your fave/most dreaded house chore? .... mine is PUTTING LAUNDRY AWAY! aaaahhh!

more self portraits! just for fun... AND to create things all the time. last year i spent most of the time dreaming, drooling and wishing i'd make more pretty things... but this year, i just going to make it happen! stop making excuses! focus! reward yourself!

here i've started painting on a hard suitcase. it was a pretty grungy creamy color so i'm sprucing it up with a 'pretty pink city' :) i have about 6 of these in all different colors that i'm going to display up on a BIG EMPTY shelf that has been driving me crazy for the past 2 years almost.and here is my take on Elsie's ipod owl case... except, as you can see, mine is wayyyy bigger. this girly (who looks kind of grumpy... what could i do to make her look happier?) is holding my new Kindle. i love it! thank you for following my blog... this year is going to be sooo much fun!
oh and pssst... these girls inspire me sooo much! Rachel, Elsie, Holly, LA... but you all knew that already! :D

and with that is #3 too.... i'm at the point in my life that when i look in the mirror it makes me sad. it's not a horrible image... just not one i enjoy whatsoever. so i need to make myself get up in the mornings (i tried this morning... not a chance! 530am is earlyyyyy for me) and get my darn butt in gear. there is NO WAY i can get into my old bikini's and it's only 1 week til Mexico. maybe it's time for a mom suit? :(

i need motivation... tips, tricks, SLEEP! do you have any?

oh and is it normal to require 9 hours of sleep per day? how much do you get.... and still feel normal?

next monday we go on our first adventure of the New Year. Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Joel and I are going for a leadership training for Scentsy :] i can't wait for all the new helpful training and the beaches.... AND the relationships that we will make.
also up on the list are... Vancouver, Cananda... TriCities, Washington... Morden & Winnipeg, Canada... Hawaii... Denver, Colorado... Springfield, Missouri... back home to SD and a trip to Olympia too... and most likely Disneyland at the end of the year. It's going to be a busy year but I plan to document it ALL with pictures and actually start scrapbooking again.

What are your travel plans for 2010? i would looove to hear... even if it's to the next town or across the world. by bike, car, rv, plane, or even a hot air balloon... (swoon.)xo. jari

time is definitely not on our side.... but that's ok!! we are sooooo ready to go home to see our family and friends. things will fall in to place.

deliver a couple last minute Scentsy bags
get caught up on all the laundry... wash, dry, fold AND PUT AWAY!!
gather all the goodies to bring with us to SD
just a tiny bit of shopping for a few gifties
gather my craft supplies to take with us so we can finish making that last few gifts while we are home
pick up the whole house, dust and vacuum - (it's always soo nice to come to a clean home)
give Caesar yet another flea baths.... i think they are gone, but we are doing one more round of treatment so we can be sure sure. :) - and spray the house one more time
watch (or listen to) Elf one more time!
pack all the bags... can't forget all of our electronics. (it's getting pretty ridiculous actually... laptop, dvd players, NEW KINDLE!, ipod, cell phone chargers, camera and charger)
check the weather report.... nothing like traveling 12 hours in yucko weather (it's raining here this morning and so it's suuuuper icy!!)

hmmm.... that might be it! yays!

is not going sowell. I NEED a vacation... which should start on Thursday. but it might be a long 3 days getting there....

so here's a few things that might help me make it thru...my new print from Unconventional Ida... beautiful. and these adorable panda mittens from Holly with RVA!

and this gorgeous hat from Piper & Paisley. Jen makes the BEST hats and I can't wait to wear this one too!

so today i must:

*wait for the dealership to call and tell me what's wrong with our pathfinder... not good when you're getting ready to go on a 12 hr road trip to see family you haven't seen in 6 months! aaahh

*give Caesar another bath... somehow he got fleas (not covered but there were some the other day). he was only at the vets and the groomers in the last few months so he must have picked them up there.... GROSSS! but we've disinfected the whole house and him... TWICE!

*finish 4 Christmas gifts...

*buy some liquor... you'll see why after Christmas

i found the cuuuutest doll house this late summer at a thrift store... and i knew the moment i saw it, that our girls would go NUTSO!!! sooooo.... it's going to be the big present under the tree!

i went to bed tonight... after finally taking care of my hygiene (ha!) - or maybe it sounds better if i said i was "pampering myself!" anyway. it felt great!
then i laid down.... grabbed my book... and all i could think about was christmas music and crafting!so i got up... brewed myself a cup of earl grey and got to it.
pretty supplies i'm using for my ornaments for kimi's swap... all white! heavenly. just like my tree... *sigh
tomorrow i:
take alyn to the recycling center for a field trip :D
2 scentsy deliveries - or was it 3?
lunch with my mops mama's... yays! (at the train in the mall.... bring extra antibacterial gel!)
finish making ornaments for swap
make lasagna for the boys... (and the rest of us too.)
try and finish a tutorial for the easiest christmas gift everrrrr. (and if you're family, and you're reading this.... act surprised when the girls give it to you :]

it's Halloween! (ok well technically it's Nov 1... and we're excited about that too!)
here's wonder woman = Arly... so excited to go be out treating!and miss Alyn = jellyfish!mmmm i *heart* julio!and a couple more posie pics... they are soo silly!and a little photo with little caesar boy... cuuuutest bumble bee everrr!

... a week in our lives :)

day one....
i spent the WHOLE day monday putting packages of over 1100 little mini testers wax jars together for my girls on my Scentsy team... it was a TON of work over the weekend but i love to do anything to grow our team... these are the empties left over.

here's Alycat... (Alyn!) always still in her pj's when we drop Arly off at school everyday... then we ALWAYS snuggle up on the couch for an hour or two.. (we are NOT morning girls!)

one of the buses we see everyday... and the girls constantly wish they could ride. maybe someday.Arly and I created this sweet flamingo pumpkin for her school project. he is a flamingo from the croquet game off Alice and Wonderland. she had to bring in the book along with the pumpkin and they will be on display at the library - waiting on votes from parents and kiddos! we'll find out friday who the winner is... he was soooo fun to create :)
oh p.s. thpf is opening on SUNDAY!!!

i've been working on LOTS of projects lately....
my 2009-2010 calendar from RVA... i love how it turned out.this page is for my Scentsy Sisters! There are now 43 girls on our team!!!anyone want to come to my purse party?!?!? it's going to be sooo fun!and i've been trying to keep up (ok at least do a few) projects from the autumn rva girls class....
and these journals were sooo fun and easy!
i made 3 of them for my sweet friend... love you Ari!

and i've have lotsss more but i'm waiting until THE HOT PINK FLAMINGO opens on NOVEMBER 1st!!! yes! we're finally doing it! Leah and I are working on projects and we can't wait to share! and my MIL is making the cuuuutest guys you might have ever seen... (or pretty darn close!)

ok... nightiessss! i'm off to watch season 2 episodes 2, 3 & 4 of madmen with my hubby!

Pom Poms & Pumpkins, Plus more!

today was a lovely day!
we finally got out the paper, scissors and glue and made some decorations for out little home. Halloween is in the air and we love it!Alyn loooves to paint! She would sit with me all day and do whatever crafty thing i was working on and be content. She definately is like her mommy... thru and thru!Arly... oh Arly... she likes to craft for a few minutes at a time. Then, she'd rather go sort toys, books or whatever her overly active brain is thinking of at the moment. She's always thinking! looove!Bats + Spiders!One of my friends gave me some more owls she found thrifting... i love them! but do you think it's getting to be a little much? :( my collection is growing out of control!The girls and I are big fans of Miss Elsie's ghosts! so we created our own for our front door... and we love web too!Next up... pom poms!
Don't you love the little pom pom maker that my bestie Leah's daddio made me? i looove it! you can make them any size you want... it's adjustable!
and here are the little steps to make one on this fantastic contraption!

place the two knobbed sticks (ha! is there a better description??!?!) into the desired holes... (ok, this is sounding bad but i don't know how else to state it :)
take your yarn and wrap wrap wrap away!
tie a knot around the center of the pom pom.
slide it off... cut the looped endsand VOILA! a pom pom!!! yay! (you'll still need to trim the pom pom of course)here's my little stack of the ones i made tonight... seriously, this only took me about 30 minutes to make all of these!

The rest of the nights was spent going through 4 garbage bags FULL OF YARN that was given to me by my sweet friend. so Rachel, Vivs & Holly... I'm ready to learn how to knit! :)

i looooved staying at the flamingo! wonder if it has anything to do with my etsy shop... that will have stuff up and ready for someone else's home on NOV 1st! my bestie Leah and I are going to open up shop together! yay!!

oh... here comes the lights...
enjoy.me chillin' poolside... in the shade! but somehow, my pasty self got a little burn... ha!and the real flamingos = cuuuuute.old vegas was my fave.and we got in trouble when the girls saw the pics of the 'castle!'m&m wrapper purses... seriously, made all out of wrappers!these colors melt my heartand this chandelier & scarves had me at hello! UO.and we soooo can't wait for this movie to come... as i know most of you are! we are making a family date on the 17th!loveloveoh my the cuuutest nerd monkey ever!!my highlight of the trip! i was like a kid in the candy store! and spent my gambling money here instead of on the roulette tables!

there was sooo much to see and do and we didn't do a fraction of them.

with blisters, sore sore bodies (geez, we obviously need to exercise more!) and 'old people' syndrome (wanting to just lay in bed all day and night, yeah, pretty lame right?!) it was a pretty good vacation!

thanks mom for watching our girlios so we could go!

next trip.... puerto vallarta in january! thank you scentsy!

little Alycat... embroidering a monkey for grama... she is my crafty one! i LOOOOVE it!

and Arly... she is my 'sorting queen!' you can DEFINATELY tell that school is back in session! ha! she could spend hoursssss sorting.. i need to get her into the craft room to sort away!isn't this the CUUUUTEST handwriting ever!??!?! i looove it! db=dark blue rhinestones, w=white rhinestones, g = green and so on... and me... i'm a sad NERDola today... i'm totally missing out on the NERD PARTY at RVA in SPRINGFIELD! i miss you girls... and Jeremy too! :D and then i found out tonight that my dad is going to Missouri this weekend... i told him that i would cry happy tears if he stopped at RVA Shop and took a pic with Miss Elsie... or Miss Erin. so girls... if he does i want to see pics! :D

joel and i are watching the 1st episode of the Lucy Show... with George Burns and everything... loooovvveeee!

me in the morning... i looove my cherry slips! the patchwork on the hoodie is from Elsie's camera embroidery pattern) It's my go to comfy outfit... so anyway - i have TONS of mailings to go out today... still! sorry mom, labels will be shipped today! promise! and quilt squares for janel & jamie.... fun! ok so i drug out my stash of embroidery stuff and LOOK! what a disaster! that's about a days job right there! yikes! put it on the list.... never ending list! but a busy life is a good life! i'm searching for a good knitting book. holly suggested i tried 'chicks with sticks' - the one i found at the book exchange was a kids book! too cute! but she did send me the link to book here. check it out! now i'm on a hunt!Arly has started her 1st week of 1st grade! she LOVES it! was sooo excited to see 4 of her classmates from kindergarten in her class with her! every morning she wakes up and says "today is my 1st day of 1st grade", "today is my 2nd day of 1st grade!", "today is my 3rd day..." ok you get it! but i love it! there is nothing more special than seeing your child be proud of themselves and their accomplishments! she melts my heart! oh... and have i mentioned that I LOOOOOVE SCENTSY! i've been putting it off for too long.... and i'm starting to feel really bad about myself and am getting lazier by the day. and it truly makes me sad, disappointed, embarrassed and ashamed. so today i've started this:

WOW!!! it had to have been one of the most AMAZING experiences of my life... we were driving home from Lewistown when we ran into a thunderstorm. it was pouring like nobody's business and the show from above was breathtaking. then CRACK! Lightning almost struck us! we guessed that it was about 50-60 feet away from us and it was the most brilliant red i've ever seen! and the sound... oh my! i think our dog almost lost control of himself! poor guy! :D but it was incredible! i'll never forget it!

We've been SUUUUUPER busy at the Spry household lately... and right now i'm a bit of a sad Auntie Bear... Kaci left tonight. SNIFFLES!!!!

my sister jackie, neice kaci and rachel have FINALLY convinced me to read the twilight books and i was suuuper skeptical but in all honesty, i've realllllly have been enjoying reading them. thanks vivs for sending them to me! i'm now on new moon and i'm hooked! every time i get a free minute (and i'm not on the computer) i open is up and read read read until my girls NEEEEED me.are you into the twilight books? have you read them all? holly it's time! they're awesome! (even my hubby has started them too!)
these girls are SILLLLY! obviously a little bored at joels softball double header last night... holy strong!!!
today will include:
photos downtown
get film for our "new" vintage polaroid
set the tent up and air it out for camping tomorrow
grocery shopping for camping
go down to the carousel
write thank yous for Scentsy while the girls play at dragon's hallow
send out emails to my team... welcome!
get some baskets out the door
enter a party
order some arbonne... time to detox!
sand volleyball tonight.. we NEED a W!
and maybeeeee a yahtzee tournament tonight... best out of 5... with themed rounds! :D

FIRST THING!!! i'm sooo happy for Holly!!! she's the NEWEST RVA GIRL!! and she's the perfect fit! congrats HOLLY!!! (painting Elsie made her... too cute... i took image off rva's blog.)

when i was in springfield Elsie had a shirt that said "save the drama for your mama" and fell in love. so kaci and i tried making some tanks and....
